A permit is not required if you are using fireworks that do not explode or shoot up into the air over 6 feet high.  Sparklers, twirlers, snakes, fountains and similar items, sold to the general public at most stores and roadside stands, usually do not require a fireworks permit.

A permit is required for the following types of fireworks:

Bottle Rockets
Cannonade Shells, Stars and similar items
Firecrackers, Cherry Bombs and similar explosives
Any item that requires a mortar tube launch

Please contact the sheriff's office in sufficient time for your fireworks display permit.  There is no fee for this service.
